Monday, July 10, 2017 at 9:54AM I was fortunate to catch up with the great Bill Frisell on opening night of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. We met backstage at the Melbourne Recital Centre before his When You Wish Upon A Star show.
I snuck in early with my photographer friend and fellow guitar nerd - Kristoffer Paulsen to set up a green room full of Harvesters with an amplifier. For nearly an hour Bill played and discussed the guitars with us, he found a talking point or a unique sound in each guitar and we enjoyed a solo gig for an audience of two.

It was a treat to watch Bill play my instruments and then to lend him a guitar for some transcendent local shows with his trio.

I love this pic from the great rock and portrait photographer Zoran Orlic.
It was a pleasure to build a custom guitar for Jeff - the Harvester Antonio metal-necked model in his left hand and to then sell one of my arty 'tangent' guitars to him this year - the Harvester 'Jovian Green' in his right hand.
It's great to see these two wildly different instruments together!

Firstly from the good people at The Loft recording studio in Chicago - home of the band WILCO and now home to Jeff Tweedy's Harvester Antonio guitar - equipped with 'the full mastery' bridge and trem ...
Then this from The Fretboard Journal, everybody's favourite guitar magazine.
They really seem to understand where i'm coming from ( and they've probably never even seen Sunshine North, Victoria ! )
If you have an instagram account and don't mind it filling up with guitars then you know what to do !
Look ! they put me on the same page ( floating in space ) as Saul Koll.
