Now that's what I call a neck-pocket.
My first aluminium-necked prototype nears completion.
See here for more.
Thanks, Antonio
A new Harvester ready for delivery.
and some new parts in development ...
Harvester bridges slotted for fretwire in the style of Wandre & Höfner.
Stay tuned to see where these bridges end up ...
And as usual a lot of this :
Japanese semi acoustic guitar ( in gigbag ) meets reversing Japanese tour van.
Hope you are all as busy as I am here ...
Cheers,
AP
Aluminium swarf coming alive before my eyes on a slab of beautiful mahogany.
Just a visual hint at some of the textures in my next batch of builds. I have always loved working with aluminium and most days it seems to me that combining metals and woods in new and unusual ways is what this game is all about.
Some new skills for pickguard construction here ...
I've been meaning to offer back-sprayed guards for some time, contrasting lacquer colours against the guitar body in the style of some American guitar makers of the 50's and my beloved European weirdo's of the 60's ... there's yet another 60's Hagström here on my repair bench with baby-blue acrylic to compliment it's vinyl clad body.
There are new posts on the Triggers page of this site and many new photos around the place. As usual I urge you to subscribe to either the RSS link or the Facebook button for the more day to day goings on in the shed ( including galleries of vintage repair jobs that have passed through here lately ).
Enjoy,
Cheers, Anthony
Many inspiring instruments have hit the bench for repairs this month.
I've just completed some big restorations and refinishing jobs and can see a good patch of pure guitarmaking ahead. I'm listening to my old SST vinyl, ( Hüsker Du today ) tidying up the workshop, sharpening chisels and planes and drawing up plans.
To that end I've added some ordering information to the front page of this site. ( In response to emailed requests for a little more 'detail' on my site ).
I've also updated the repairs page for local Melbourne folks ( or those who are good at packing broken guitars in boxes and hauling them to the post office ).
Nobody likes a static website so I add posts to my SOFTWARE music blog and my design/inspiration page TRIGGERS whenever i get a free rainy afternoon.
On the housekeeping front there's now a Search page and a Secure Contact form, so go crazy, it's great to see the site's hit statistics grow.
Cheers, AP
